This site is a respository of all the digital content in
different formats published by the Sayahna Foundation. Apart from the formats like
pdf and html for immediate public
consumption of the content, we deliver xml versions of the
content for archiving and future usage. A broader classification of the content has
been done and links to their respective pages are also provided hereunder.
The contents have been released under the terms of Creative Commons License. The
public domain works are under the terms of cc by share alike
(cc-by-sa). A few items, however, have been released under
a slightly restrictive license of cc by non-commercial share
alike (cc-by-nc-sa) at the insistence of the respective
authors or copyright holders of those content since they do not want their content
to be exploited commercially. Kindly check the license before using the content for
commercial purposes.
We have chosen to use the current version (p5) of Text Encoding and
Interchange (tei) document type definition (dtd) for xml format, owing to its
comprehensive ability to encode almost all types of content spanning different
disciplines like arts, literature, humanities, linguistics, grammar, performing arts,
lexicogrphy, science and technology including mathematics, etc.
The category pages provide links to each of these formats of
the works listed. Apart from this, each html page provides a
link to its xml and pdf versions in
the colophon section provided at the bottom.

Production
notes: The entire document processing has been done in a computer
running gnu/linux operating system and TeX and friends.
The pdf has been generated using XeLaTeX from TeXLive
distribution 2021 using Ithal, an online
framework for text formatting. The tei (p5) encoded xml has been generated from the same LaTeX sources using LuaLaTeX. html
version has been generated from the xml using xslt stylesheet (en-tei-html.xsl) developed by CV Radhakrkishnan in combination with the free
home edition of Saxon processor for xslt v. 10.5.
Fonts: The basefont used in
pdf and html versions is

Garamond developed by
Christian
Thalmann, a type designer based in Zurich, Switzerland. The title and
headings are with
Cormorant
sc ; the catchline and the footer make use of
Cormorant
